Summer Safety

Thursday June 21st, 2012

It’s officially summer here in Newfoundland and Labrador – though it might seem like it took a while getting here.

Summer is a time of barbeques, road trips, outdoor concerts, weekends at the cabin, camping trips, ATVs, the open road, and driving with the windows down and the music up.

Maybe it’s because our summer season is so short that Newfoundlanders are anxious to cram as many summer activities as possible into three short months. The result is that the local roads and highways become busy this time of year, with people eager to get where they’re going to make the most of that long weekend or sunny afternoon.

As a result, it’s important to keep your wits about you when on the road. Following the rules of the Highway Traffic Act and practicing basic defensive driving can help you to avoid a life-altering accident, and keep you and your loved ones safe while travelling this summer.

Of course, not everyone is paying such diligent attention to the world around them, and accidents do happen.

If you become injured as a result of someone else’s negligence, you need a lawyer who is dedicated to your interests—someone who can fight for you, so you can focus on getting better. If you or someone you know has been injured in an accident caused by someone else, make it our fight.

In the meantime, enjoy the summer weather, and stay safe!
